Questions That Have Arose Concerning Spruce Bud Worm
Posted by Carol Mason on Wednesday, March 3, 2010
Property Owners~
We have received several questions in regards to the spraying and would like to address these concerns:
1. The first question is about the product that will be sprayed. The product is a bacterium that is non-toxic, this is not a herbicide or pesticide.
2. The second question was about the legality of spraying over structures. The laws of spraying a bacterium that is non-toxic, are different than spraying a herbicide or pesticide. We have been assured from Northwest Management that spraying over structures is legal.
3. The third questions is about the repetitiveness of the application. Assuming we are in the 3rd year of the spruce bud worm infestation, two back to back years of spraying should be enough to save our trees from the 5 - 8 year spruce bud worm cycle. Eradication of the spruce bud worm is not necessary to save the trees that are impacted.
If anyone should have any further questions please let us know so we can forward them on to Northwest Management. Thanks for your support with this matter.

PS ~ We will be sending out the product safety data on the bacterium once we receive it.
